The QA Engineer will work with the development team and infrastructure groups to implement the automated testing of applications as well as support the existing process. The QA Engineer will monitor in production settings, to cover off all testing and quality control needs.


This is a full time, 18 month temporary position located at 3500 Gilmore Way.



  • Work with other QA and development team members to develop and implement the QA automation process
  • Develop, build and execute test plans and test scripts for automation of all aspects of testing, based on project requirements and functional specifications documents
  • Develop and build test automation scripts, and work with the development team to ensure appropriate test automation is built during the development lifecycle
  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents and provide timely and meaningful feedback to ensure a full and clear understanding of deliverables as well as identify any gaps in requirements
  • Evaluate risk and perform risk assessments. Recommend development priorities and project scheduling based on assessment
  • Provide scheduled quality reports for projects and products, and advise management of quality related issues or trends
  • Identify, document and implement QA process improvements (process standardization, methodologies, tool utilization) leveraging industry best practices
  • Develop, document and maintain test library for all applications
  • Determine, develops, and maintains QA procedures and guidelines
  • Research emerging testing tools, technologies and automated techniques
  • Provide QA guidance to support QA Analysts and software development teams



  • University Degree / Diploma in Computer Science
  • Certified in Quality Management and/or Quality Engineering
  • 5-8 years' QA experience with web applications and web services
  • Direct hands on experience with process improvement and established frameworks such as Lean or ISO
  • Project management experience would be an asset
  • Testing on recent MS windows and various mobile based platforms as well as automated and manual test execution
  • Experience with agile software development lifecycle including Scrum
  • Test management tools (e.g. TFS and MS Test Manager, Jira, TestTrack Pro)
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
