The Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships BC is responsible for the management of key government and healthcare relationships in BC to support LifeLabs strategic vision.
The Senior Manager will work with internal and external clients to ensure the coordination and completion of key contractual deliverables, develop proposals and support the management of operational issues that negatively affect LifeLabs services in BC.
Reporting to the VP BC Government Contracts and Partnerships the Senior Manager needs to be comfortable working with government and healthcare stakeholders. A wide degree of critical thinking, creativity and latitude is required.
Core Accountabilities:
- Managing the development and approval of proposals for new services in BC. This includes development of proposals, business cases and presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinating the implementation of new services for the BC Government including new areas of scope, changes to tests and methodology and quality changes. Working closely with operations and quality to ensure the requirements are understood, implementations are met on time and on budget, and communications are completed effectively.
- Developing materials to showcase the value of the services LifeLabs provides in BC to government and other healthcare stakeholders.
- Supporting the management and reporting of operational issues to government (including resolving/responding to patient complaints received from government) working with LifeLabs operational team. This includes development of briefing notes and other communications for government review.
- Fostering and building relationships with leaders in the health sector including health authority laboratory leaders
Required Experience
- 7+ years of experience in a related role with a similar level of experience; with at least 2 years’ experience in healthcare
- Degree in Health Administration, Business, Finance, Management, Project Management (PMP), or a related field.
- Proven ability to gain support for and drive organizational strategies
- Experience working directly with government and/or healthcare organizations
- Project management and business planning experience is an asset
- A detail and results oriented self-starter with demonstrated analytical expertise
- An excellent written and verbal communicator, including experience drafting briefing notes for senior executives
- Leadership and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset
- Strong MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Entrepreneurial aptitude to develop the new role
