As the Project Lead you will be responsible for managing projects with specified deliverables within Lab Operations. This will include establishing the project plan and monitoring the progress and performance against the project plan.

This is a temporary one year full time role and reports to the Manager, Lab Operations based at 7455, 130th Street Surrey.

This role will be dedicated to projects encompassing all disciplines in CCB: Specimen Management, Microbiology, and Molecular Diagnostics.

Accountabilities

  • Working alongside Lab Operations management, prepare business cases in order to deploy expenditure of the annual capital budget
  • Implement small scale projects that support the timely execution of the annual capital plan for provincial Lab Operations; including but not limited to test equipment installation and validation, lab renovation and/or relocation activity
  • Identify opportunities for improvements based on the understanding of the current and future state vision, performing gap analysis
  • Create and maintain KPI dashboards for Lab Operations, monitor and keep up to date metrics on work stream performance and reliability
  • Provide timely status reporting, including detailed progress reports on projects and escalate issues that put the project plans at risk
  • Develop and maintain effective lines of communication with team members and stakeholders

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Healthcare or other relevant discipline
  • Post graduate diploma in Health Care Administration would be an asset
  • Minimum of three years Project Management experience with a background in Medical Lab Diagnostics and Genetics
  • Completion Project Management courses or working towards PMP Certification 
  • Working knowledge of Lean principles and tools
  • Strong relationship skills
