The Associate Product Manager (APM) will be an integral part of the General & Advanced Diagnostics group at LifeLabs and reports to Product Manager- General Diagnostics.


APM will provide tactical support for the growth of their assigned products:

  • Coordinate new product and service launches and track launch performance.
  • Implement, analyze and report KPI’s.
  • Analyze and track market performance and competitors.


APM will act as the interface between sales, the voice of the customer and the cross functional organization.  APM will provide tactical and direct support to the inside and enterprise sales groups.  


A successful LifeLabs APM will have previous product management experience, and sound business acumen. They will be able to translate the voice of the customer to identify growth barriers and opportunities. The incumbent will be a creative problem solver with a focus on supporting sales and marketing success.


The Product Manager interacts closely with cross-functional teams at LifeLabs (Finance, IT, marketing, sales, operations, medical and business intelligence) in order to drive success.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, experience in medical/diagnostics sales, data driven management, marketing, product training and sales support.




Execute and measure

  • Support the product team in launching, implementing, managing, tracking performance and growing the products, programs and services within the General Diagnostics portfolio.
  • Assist with designing and developing tactical product plans and customized offerings.
  • Assist with the development and execution of Business Plans that will drive growth to reach financial objectives
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and implement plans for product awareness growth
  • Provide product training and support
  • Identify and develop tools to support sales efforts e.g. professional presentations, white papers, marketing collateral needs
  • Understand internal processes with finance, IT, marketing, sales, operations, medical and business intelligence teams to support product development and identify areas of efficiency or cost saving, as well as trouble-shooting specific occurrences.


Understand the market

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the markets and clients' needs across Canada.
  • Track key medical developments related to assigned products.
  • Maintain knowledge of the regulatory environment, reimbursement, and competitive landscape and apply to business planning.
  • Understand the strengths and weaknesses of a competitive offering to be able to articulate the unique values of LifeLabs services.
  • Maintain relationships and communicate with sales reps, customers, segment KOL’s and healthcare providers.



  • Post-Secondary education in Business, Science or Healthcare
  • Prior knowledge and experience within the health care/life sciences industries
  • At least 3 years of Product Management experience in a related field
  • Sales experience in Diagnostics or Healthcare
  • Stakeholder and KOL management
  • Demonstrated Business and financial acumen
  • Product or service launch experience
  • Proven ability to use data to drive insights
  • Experience with CRM analytics
  • Market Research including Voice of Customer gathering
  • A detail and results-oriented self-starter with demonstrated analytical expertise
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
