Reporting to the Senior Key Account Manager the Business Development Manager will retain and expand hospital and Long Term Care business for Lifelabs in Ontario through the development and execution of territory sales planning, building strong relationships with customers and articulation of a clear value proposition.

 

 

Accountabilities:

 

  • To establish, develop, and maintain relationships with key Hospital and LTC stakeholders within area of accountability
  • Participate in the development and execution of plans to achieve Hospital and Long Term Care strategy
  • To grow the Ontario hospital and LTC business through increased volume &/or new services to achieve annual sales targets
  • Engage with LHIN and Hospital Integration Leaders, lab leaders, procurement leaders to convey the value proposition for outsourcing or integration of lab services with LifeLabs
  • Monitor hospital contract performance against targets by leveraging utilization tools and reporting capability
  • Prepare budget for current client roster and projection of new business
  • Take leadership role in coordination and development of Business Proposals and RFP responses and support implementation of successful responses
  • Make recommendations for new products and services based on trends and voice of customer
  • Gather, utilize, and communicate market intelligence, competitive activity and trends

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Degree/diploma in Health/Life Science
  • Medical Laboratory Technology education is required
  • 5 - 8 years healthcare related experience; lab experience required
  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years sales experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain multilevel relationships in a complex environment
  • Previous experience in a customer service or project management role an asset
  • Experience with RFPs, Business Proposals, contract or vendor management an asset
  • Demonstrated understanding of the public healthcare environment and its impacts on the laboratory business
