The Director, Business Unit, Naturopathic and Functional Medicine (N&FM) is accountable for the N&FM portfolio performance and in collaboration with the Business Unit Director peers, is accountable for ensuring that customer centric key performance indicators (KPI’s) are established and met. S/he will be accountable for developing a strategic plan and ensure a disciplined execution of that plan  including the analysis, identification and commercialization  of new offerings (services and/or products) to meet the needs of our current and future customer segments.

 

The incumbent will also be required to assess the commercial opportunities for growing the N&FM Business Unit  revenue and profitability through sales and marketing initiatives or through bringing new innovative offerings to market that compliment or extend our current portfolio. This role will also require to develop strategic relationships with external stakeholders and will ensure strong collaboration with Internal stakeholders such as NPI, Product and Service Innovation and Operations to ensure a disciplined and effective pipeline.  The Director will also be accountable for commercial partnerships that will accelerate our growth and provide us a competitive advantage.

 

This role is located at 100 International Boulevard, Toronto. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the strategy and business plans to accelerate revenue and margin growth of the N&FM Business Unit portfolio.
  • Lead the identification and evaluation of commercial partnership opportunities, identify the partners that provide us competitive advantages and are aligned with our current and future strategic objective. Lead the business case development, negotiation and onboarding  of new partners to ensure business plan KPIs are achieved.
  • Implement and maintain a strategic pricing process to ensure we are competitive and optimizing our profitability; Work collaboratively with all stakeholders in the value chain to ensure optimal profitability and competitiveness  (Finance, Operations, BICx, MedSci)
  • Ensure strong sales and marketing execution through disciplined performance management processes and focus on meeting all financial targets.. Ensure strong customer engagement within the business planning process.  
  • Provide leadership, development and coaching of direct reports to influence employee commitment by building team and individual capability, managing performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, emphasizing strength and clarifying performance expectations and creating a positive work environment by being effective role model and by creating a positive work environment

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or other relevant discipline. Master's degree education in Business Administration or Naturopathic and/or Functional medicine would be an asset
  • The successful will possess 5 + years’ experience as Director or Senior Manager leading a team of Managers/Senior Professionals
  • Experience developing and executing strategic initiatives
  • Experience and demonstrated success leading sales and marketing execution
  • Experience and expertise in leading change and implementing process improvement
  • Evidence of effective customer engagement and brand building
  • Proven experience working directly with Canadian healthcare agencies such as CCNM, OMA, Dr’s of BC, .
  • Knowledge about the Canadian/ US Healthcare environments related to naturopathic and Functional medicine testing an advantage
  • Strong track record of collaboration and effective negotiation
  • Financial accountability and experience developing and executing business cases
  • Proven and self-motivated performer who can manage multiple and evolving business priorities
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in critical thinking and problem solving
