The Director, Information Management will report to the CIO and will lead the business vision and strategy through an effective data and information management strategy, road map, and tactical plan to execute that strategy.  Develop the Data Strategy that describes the organization’s digital assets current state and recommendations for future state, provide oversight and direction through to execution.  Provide comprehensive recommendations and direction through proficient understanding of data and information management, infrastructure, software, and systems engineering.  Define and execute data standards and governance to improve business decisions.



  • Develop data and information management strategy, governance and road map on integrating and management of enterprise data
  • Develop and maintain policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Master Data Management (MDM) information technologies within the enterprise relating to information management.
  • Collaborate with units within IT and provide a consensus-based enterprise information management solution that is scalable, adaptable and synchronized with the ever-changing business needs.
  • Lead a team of Information Management professionals to work with various business and IT stakeholders to demonstrate and show business value of enterprise-wide information management or to show value of any new strategic platforms being considered.
  • Evangelize and champion benefits of Data Strategy to business and technical audiences.
  • Ensure that the data is well-organized and understood in the right context to enable business decisions.
  • Enable data mining, trend and predictive analysis leading to leadership decision support capabilities.
  • Migrate and expand enterprise warehouse into a cloud based data lake to enable data analytics and informed business decisions
  • Lead a team of developers to deliver data definitions, data profiling, ETL development and analysis.




  • Education - University Degree, BSc degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics or related discipline – MSc degrees preferred
  • 15 years previous related experience, complex future state planning affecting core systems and processes – combination or all areas of business analysis, applications / systems engineering, data/information architectures and technical architectures
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience designing complex, integrated solutions
  • 5+ years of people management and leadership experience is required
  • Hands on experience in leading large-scale data warehousing and analytic projects
  • Understanding of database and analytical methodology and technology in healthcare
  • Understanding of techniques associated with data modeling, process modeling, and user-centric design with the context of LifeLabs standards
  • Industry leadership in database, enterprise data warehouse, big data, business intelligence, data analytics, or data science
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships and work across functionally as part of a team
  • Drive to engage others, and have excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Occasional travelling may be required
