Reporting to the EHS Manager, Health and Safety, the EHS Claims Coordinator will have accountability for ensuring that support, resources, and tools are available to LifeLabs employees for the EHS biological safety, emergency response, hazard & incident reporting, immunization, PPE/ fit testing, TDG and violence prevention and working alone programs to ensure that compliance can be maintained and incidents are prevented.  In addition, the EHS Coordinator will collaborate and work closely with the EHS Manager, as they are guided through the various projects.  The EHS Coordinator will help to ensure that the quality, safety and project objectives are achieved on-time, remain within scope and budget. 

This is a full time permanent role located at 100 International Boulevard and access to a vehicle is required for local travel. Periodic out of area (not local) travel may also be required.


  • Under the leadership of the EHS Manager, the EHS Coordinator will be accountable to:
  • Help develop, monitor, and update project plans to meet the project objectives
  • Provide status updates, meeting minutes, progress reports to Manager
  • Engage the various stakeholders for SOP review, feedback, and project implementation milestones as required  
  • Research regulatory body information and business best practices, including collecting and analyzing data, for the purposes of drafting and reviewing SOPs, communications, and training programs 
  • Work with Supply Chain Management to source and research products and/or vendors, obtain quotes and participate in RFPs as required
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings as needed
  • Keep the EHS Manager informed on project: progress, deliverables (milestones), quality, cost, risks, issues, challenges, and scope change requests
  • Coordinate fall immunization clinics, including vendor and contract management
  • Support ongoing maintenance of the Emergency Response Program (i.e. tools/ drills/ training/ pandemic planning)
  • Complete EHS Audits and support completion of EHS Risk Assessments
  • Coordinate TDG competency assessment program
  • Administer EHS Incident Management System (Medgate), including completion of monthly reporting for H&S metrics (hazard reports)
  • Coordinate biological safety risk assessments and support implementation of program requirements (i.e. standard precautions, decontamination, etc.)
  • Other duties as required (e.g. immunization reimbursement, NAOSH week, etc.)



  • Diploma or Degree (Specialization in Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health preferred)
  • 1- 3 years’ previous experience in an EHS related role
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and able to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to work in a team environment and individually
  • Excellent computer skills with proven ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, MS Project, Outlook, IE Explorer)
  • Must have access to a vehicle for local travel
  • Periodic out of area (not local) travel may be required
