As a key member of the Sales team within Genetics, the Specialty Territory Manager, based in Alberta Calgary, acts as the key sales representative in their assigned region and is primarily responsible for achieving sales goals and objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promotes the full portfolio of genetic tests and maximizes sales to clinicians in Territory
  • Organizes product presentations and other promotional activities in diverse medical settings and to a variety of medical audiences
  • Identifies Key Opinion Leaders (KOls) and develops and maintains long-term relationships within the healthcare community
  • Provides feedback from clients to Company to support new test development and expand service offerings
  • Develops an annual Territory plan to maximize sales in Territory
  • Works closely with the marketing team to achieve Territory targets
  • Reports regularly to the Company on sales of products and promotional activities
  • Utilizes Life Labs Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and other productivity tools to plan sales calls, record customer interactions and capture new business
  • Responds to customer enquiries, concerns and messages in a timely fashion.
  • Attends specified trade shows and conferences as a representative of Life Labs, when required
  • Maintains a high level of product knowledge through ongoing training
  • Maintains medical knowledge and professional development through continuing education (rounds, scientific meetings, and course/programs)
  • Knowledge of traditional and newer/emerging technologies used in molecular genetic analysis
  • Extensive knowledge of the molecular and hereditary basis of genetic disorders
  • Thorough knowledge of the Canadian healthcare system, provincial reimbursement policies, and the genetic testing landscape
  • Ability to disseminate and present complex scientific concepts in a variety of settings and to diverse audiences

 

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Master's degree in genetics or related discipline is considered an asset
  • 5-7 years' specialty sales or field experience within hospital settings required
  • Experience in a clinical genetics or genetic laboratory-based role a strong asset
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation skills
