The Asset Management Analyst focuses on ensuring details for configuration items are accurate and complete in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) including policing data quality against documented standards, following the prescribed lifecycle process and procedures to ensure the registration, maintenance and control of the CMDB, and ensures the integrity and accuracy of the data within. 


You’ll be a CMDB specialist and will play a key role in ensuring the LifeLabs CMDB is maintained sufficiently for use throughout the business. We’re looking for someone with BMC Helix ITSM experience to join this team where you’ll also implement and maintain integrations between CMDB and other platforms/tools. Information Technology is a rapidly changing environment and the candidate must be willing to continuously enhance technical skills and enjoy working with people as well as have a strong focus on delivering high-quality customer service to our business. Willing to work outside of normal business hours as part of a national team.



  • Designing and delivering a BMC Helix ITSM CMDB using a combination of discovery and manual mapping 
  • Maintaining and updating the configuration management model and developing a configuration management framework/plan
  • Identifying any configuration items not recorded in the CMDB or incorrectly recorded, and adding or correcting such record 
  • Registers and/or ensures registration of new Assets / Configuration Items (CIs)
  • Maintains proper relationships as defined in the agreed Configuration Models; this includes (but is not limited to) people, IT components, and contracts. Ensures the integrity of the production environment is protected and that the correct components are released. 
  • Conducting assurance reviews and physical audits in accordance with the configuration management audit plan
  • Contributing to capacity, availability, problem management, change management and knowledge management activities within the team
  • Conducting own configuration verification, auditing and reporting activities of IT infrastructure to ensure that information contained in the CMDB is accurate 
  • Identifying risks and ensuring they are appropriately logged and tracked 



  • Undergraduate degree or College Diploma in an IT related field with on-going development and relevant certifications
  • 3 years previous experience.
  • Expertise in Asset Management, ITIL, Software Development Lifecycle (Waterfall and Agile)
  • High proficiency with business concept methods and models.
  • Sound knowledge of computer applications including MS Office, HP-ALM and Rational ClearQuest.
  • Extends functional expertise across multiple domains.
