Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Planning & Analysis, the Senior Analyst, IT Finance will take on a leadership role to monitor and analyze our enterprise IT program and initaitives across all of LifeLabs. In this capacity, the successful candidate will collaborate with IT leadership, as well as project sponsors of IT for business type programs. This includes but is not limited to Client Services, Lab Operations, Marketing, Sales, Finance, HR, Facilities, and others. The Senior Analyst will lead the delivery of the IT finance cycle (budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and performance reporting) to optimize and strategize our IT investments, assets, and activities spanning both OPEX and CAPEX.

 

 

This is an opportunity with a great deal of cross-functional  and leadership visibility as you will partner across the business to develop and institutionalize IT planning and financial management.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Strengthen our IT finance cycle to increase efficiency, as well as ensure the right level of detail is shared with the right audiences
  • Augment our management reporting of IT functions, as well as IT projects (IT-owned, as well as business-owned projects) to ensure consistent monitoring of spend relative to scope
  • Lead the development of business cases in support of IT spend and other initaitives
  • Guide the strategic dialouge prioritization of IT resources that align with our strategic direction and business vision, taking into consideration our capacity constraints
  • Support IT strategy as we modernize our platforms and evolve our cost measures accordingly
  • Enable faster and more streamlined IT execution with clear decision-support expectations
  • Allow for more nimble allocation of IT resources, where new proposals can be considered outside of the annual budgeting process
  • Develop a greater understanding of, and analyze variances associated with, the capital budget, prior year plan, actuals, and the forecast
  • Develop and implement a process to review projects post completion to ensure the benefits described within the planning document, both quantitative and qualitative, have been achieved.

 

Qualifications

 

  • 3-5 years of work experience in accounting, finance or business administration, with some financial or analytical background preferred
  • Undergraduate degree is required, MBA and/or accounting designation is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple workstreams concurrently, and work well under pressure
  • Ability to plan and anticipate challenges to ensure they are addressed appropriately without impacting timelines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and facilitation skills
  • Experience leading financial managenent of OPEX and CAPEX, and project accounting
  • Proficiency with Microsfot Office (Powerpoint, Excel, etc.) and famliarity with Oracle/Hyperion and Adaptive
