Reports to: Senior Manager, Infrastructure and Support

Purpose: Implement and lead all activities required to deliver successful 24x7x365 datacenter operations to support several production services within a complex environment of on-premise and hybrid cloud technology enterprise. Supervise other datacenter administrators and demonstrate proven technical and people leadership in ensuring high system uptime (ensuring that critical and ancillary services and their supporting infrastructure are actively monitored and required actions initiated in response to real-time observations and triggered events and incidents), optimal resource utilization, support change & growth, collaborate with functional partners, empower people, and effect continuous improvement.


Core Accountabilities:

• Manage the day-to-day activities of the 24x7x365 on premise and cloud Data Centre infrastructure.

• Ensure monitoring, initial support and triage are provided for events and incidents including server and application failures, communication outages, Data Centre and environmental alarms for with priority of business-critical applications across various sites.

• Provide technical leadership and oversight as the team implements technologies and solutions that provide ongoing identification, correlation and automated recovery of events and incidents, and provides expertise related to enterprise server, datacenter, and cloud environments focusing on compute and storage

• Maintain systems integrity, compliance and security through controls on High Availability, Capacity, Patching, and Vulnerability Management

• Support ongoing change management activities performed for the Data Centre and is an active Change Advisory Board (CAB) member to help identify potential impacts and conflicts on scheduled changes.

• Publish measurements and metrics, KPIs, to track performance of the Data Centre and that reflect the resulting availability and reliability of the monitored services

• Collaborate with other technology leaders to implements and maintains standards, processes, and playbooks for the Data Centre and cloud environments, ensuring successful operations and responses to system events and proper escalations.

• Ensure operational and support requirements are embedded into the design and development of new services and solutions including life cycle management.

• Coordinate with various 3rd party / external service providers the supported compute and storage platforms

• Serve as a key person in major incidents & assist in troubleshooting Data Centre infrastructure problems, taking ownership of problems to resolution.

• Foster a team environment of service excellence, curiosity and continuous improvement.


Minimum Hiring Requirements:

• 5+ years’ technology leadership, with 3 years’ management experience in modern data center environment

• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of:

o data center facilities management;

o compute networks;

o large-scale storage area networks (SAN);

o data center provisioning
